U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, fell 0.31 percent to 104.7760 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).
