1 killed, 1 injured in traffic accident in Croatia

ZAGREB, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- One was killed and another injured in a traffic accident on Sunday afternoon in Turcin near the northwestern Varazdin in Croatia, the Varazdin Police Department announced.

The accident, which involved a motorcycle and a car, happened at an intersection in Turcin and the motorcycle driver died at the scene, and his passenger was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The investigation of the accident is still ongoing. The road is closed and traffic is taking detours, the police said.

On Aug. 6, a serious traffic accident took place on the A4 highway in the direction of Zagreb when a bus with Polish licence plate skidded off the road, and a total of 12 people were killed in the accident.
