Thailand scales up border surveillance in southern part


BANGKOK, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Thai Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan Saturday said on national TV that border security in the south will be stepped up to prevent illegal migrants from sneaking into Thai soil.

Prawit, who holds the helm on national security, said the northern and eastern borderlines have tightened.
