New York officers in Prude's arrest followed protocols: police union chief

NEW YORK, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- The head of a police union in Rochester City of New York State on Friday defended the actions of officers involved in the arrest of Daniel Prude, saying they followed protocols in using a hood to restrain him.

"They had to do exactly what they did," Rochester Police Locust Club President Michael Mazzeo discussed the incident at a mid-morning news conference at the club's headquarters, adding there was a "substantial amount of evidence to show why the protocols" used by the officers were employed.
