German shares edge up Wednesday

FRANKFURT, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged up on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 59.38 points, or 0.47 percent, to close at 12,660.25 points.

Multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.74 percent. Material manufacturer Covestro and housing association Deutsche Wohnen rose by 3.66 percent and 3.45 percent respectively.
