FRANKFURT, Aug.4 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 46.11 points, or 0.36 percent, to close at 12,600.87 points.
Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer lost 2.43 percent, making it the top loser among the blue chips. It was followed by material manufacturer Covestro and pharmaceutical company Merck, which lost 2.02 percent and 1.91 percent respectively.
