NEW YORK/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Fallen ex-IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was released from jail on Friday as French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde led a race to take over the top job in global finance.
A New York judge ordered Strauss-Kahn's release from Rikers Island jail and sent him to an unspecified, temporary location in Lower Manhattan where he will be detained under armed guard and electronic monitoring.
