BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Polling stations opened across Iraq on Thursday for the first election of a full four-year parliament since the fall of Saddam Hussein, and shortly afterwards a blast echoed across central Baghdad.
Reuters reporters said polls opened at 7 a.m. (0400 GMT) as planned. Minutes later a loud boom was heard in the capital. Its cause was not immediately known.
