A DISTURBANCE involving a group of men and weapons broke out in the early hours of Wednesday in Taman Kota Jaya, Kota Tinggi, prompting widespread concern among residents in the area.
Word of the incident spread quickly, with members of the public alerting authorities shortly after it began.
But did 12 men really riot with weapons in Kota Tinggi?

Twelve local men aged between 20 and 42 were arrested in connection with a riot in Taman Kota Jaya, Kota Tinggi, that involved weapons and caused injuries.
Kota Tinggi district police chief Superintendent Yusof Othman said the Kota Tinggi District Control Centre received information from the public about the incident at 1.57am on Wednesday.
Police officers and personnel from the Criminal Investigation Division subsequently tracked down and arrested the 12 suspects.
Seized items included 13 mobile phones, a wooden stick measuring 90cm in length, a baseball bat measuring 71cm in length and three vehicles.
All suspects and seized items have been taken to the Kota Tinggi District Police Headquarters for further action.
"Efforts to track down and arrest the remaining suspects still at large in the incident are actively ongoing," said Yusof.
The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code, which covers rioting with a deadly weapon.
