Police have confirmed the incident and have arrested two men suspected of attempting to steal TM cables in Taman Rapat Setia Baru.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Najib Hamzah said the suspects, aged 34 and 38 years old, were arrested around 1am on Monday (June 1) at a restaurant in Bercham.
He said police on Sunday (May 31) detected a viral video on X showing two suspicious men opening a TM distribution box near the housing area.

Background checks revealed that one suspect has a prior criminal record and seven drug-related records, while the other has three criminal records, he said.
Police also seized the red sedan believed to have been used during the incident, along with several other items, for investigation under Section 379/511 of the Penal Code for attempted theft.
