SHOCKING footage of a group of men brazenly committing a crime right inside a police station has been making the rounds on social media.

The CCTV video, said to have been recorded in Meru, Klang, shows a group of men barging into a police station, after which a scuffle ensues.

Five men have been arrested after a fight broke out inside the Meru police station in Klang.

North Klang OCPD Asst Comm S Vijaya Rao said the incident occurred when three local men went to the station to lodge a report at 9.40pm on Monday (March 2).

"They were suddenly approached by five other local men, which led to an argument between the two groups.

"During the commotion, one of the suspects allegedly struck a complainant with an iron rod.

"The altercation also caused damage to a television set belonging to the police station before the suspects fled the scene," he said in a statement.

Following the incident, a team from the district police headquarters Criminal Investigation Department arrested five local men aged 28 to 41 to assist investigations.

Police are still tracking down several others believed to be involved in the incident.

The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons, Section 427 for mischief, Section 324 for voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon, Section 90 of the Police Act 1967, and Section 6 of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.

All those detained were brought before the Klang court and remanded for three days until Thursday (March 5) to assist investigations.

Police believe the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between the two groups.
