Recently, a clip went viral along with the claim that it shows a brawl that broke out at a basketball court in Kluang, Johor

Is it true that such an incident happened as claimed?

Verdict:

TRUE

Four men have been arrested for allegedly attacking a teenager and injuring him at a basketball court in Kampung Paya.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said police received a report about the incident at about 11pm on Friday (Oct 10).

“The 17-year-old male victim was attacked by several unidentified individuals. The incident was recorded and the video made rounds on social media,” he said in a statement on Sunday (Oct 12).

In the video, men in black shirts were seen approaching the victim before shoving him around.

ACP Bahrin said a police team arrested four men aged between 19 and 21 at about 1.30pm on Sunday.

“Background checks revealed two suspects had prior criminal records while the other two had none,” he said.

Urine tests for drugs on all four suspects came back negative.

The case was being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting.
