Verdict:

TRUE

In the early hours of Sunday (July 5) at around 2.55am, a hatchback driven by a 19-year-old male lost control along Jalan Persiaran Senawang 1.

According to Seremban OCPD Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din, "The car then veered into the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming vehicle carrying five passengers, including its driver."

The impact left the driver with minor injuries, while one passenger in the other car sustained severe wounds and received treatment in the Intensive Care Unit of Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar Seremban.

The other occupants in the car suffered lighter injuries and were treated as outpatients.

The driver then lodged a police report before being remanded for three days starting Sunday.

"A urine test on the suspect showed a negative result for drugs," said Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta.

"The case is investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and further enquiries are ongoing.

We advise the public to drive carefully and follow road regulations to prevent such incidents," he said.

Prior to the official statement, several videos went viral on social media.
