Police are investigating a viral incident involving two male youths allegedly pulling back the curtain of a women’s fitting room at a clothing shop in Taman Mount Austin, Johor Baru.
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat confirmed that the incident took place on June 15 at a premise located along Jalan Austin Heights 8/4.
"The 26-year-old female victim was trying on clothes when the two suspects were believed to have opened the curtain of the fitting room.
One of them was reportedly holding a mobile phone at the time.
The victim then lodged a police report on the same day," he said on Wednesday (June 18).
ACP Raub added that the two suspects immediately fled the scene shortly after the incident.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person.
"Investigations are still ongoing, including to identify and locate the two suspects," he said, adding that those with information should contact the Johor Baru South police headquarters hotline at 07-2182323.
