Villagers have captured a 4.5m female crocodile weighing about 410kg, which wandered into an oil palm plantation near Batu Pahat.

The Johor Fire and Rescue Department's operation centre received a call about the reptile's presence at 10.30am on Wed (May 7).

"Six firemen and a fire rapid tender vehicle from the Penggaram Fire station were deployed to the site," said operation commander Mohd Nur Edy Paiman in a statement.

The team arrived at Kampung Parit Gantong Laut, Parit Lapis in Taman Nira, about 4km from the station, at 10.35am.
