A settler from Felda Air Tawar 3 had a narrow escape after being swept off his motorcycle by strong floodwaters during a heavy downpour on Sunday (April 13).
The incident occurred at around 2.20pm, following torrential rain, according to Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman.
A viral image circulating online shows the motorcyclist attempting to cross a flooded stretch of road when the strong current swept away his motorcycle.
Fortunately, the man was rescued by nearby bystanders, ensuring his safety.
Despite the dramatic nature of the incident, no police report has been lodged, and no other untoward incidents were reported in the area.
Supt Yusof noted that the water has since fully receded, and the road is now passable to all vehicles.
He also mentioned that water regularly overflows across the roadway in that particular area during episodes of heavy rain.
A two-minute and eight-second video was posted on the Orang Kota Tinggi Facebook page, showing the elderly man being rescued by members of the public after his motorcycle was swept away by the flood.
The public is advised to remain vigilant during such weather conditions and avoid attempting to cross flooded roads.
