NAVIGATING the roads of Changlun turned into an unexpected adventure when the ground seemed to open up beneath unsuspecting drivers.

The sudden appearance of a sinkhole reportedly engulfed several vehicles, leaving residents and social media buzzing with speculation.

Could it be true that the earth swallowed multiple cars on Jalan Bendang Cheruk?

Several vehicles using Jalan Bendang Cheruk in Changlun, Kedah have fallen into a suspected sinkhole, believed to be caused by pipe installation works on Tuesday (Jan 7).

Residents commenting on Facebook claimed that the hole appeared due to works by Syarikat Aid Darulaman (Sada).

However, Sada clarified that the project does not fall under its purview, according to a report by Sinar Harian on Wednesday (Jan 8).

Kubang Pasu OCPD Supt Mohd Redzuan Salleh stated that no police report has been filed regarding the accident caused by the sinkhole.

"However, there is one general report at the Changlun police station concerning the breakdown of a car, which will be referred to the construction contractor's company," he added.
