QuickCheck: Was a woman stabbed in front of her house in Batang Kali?

A house is meant to offer shelter from the elements and a haven of safety. But that is not always the case when one’s private space is intruded on. Recently, a woman was seriously injured after being stabbed in front of her house in Batang Kali, Hulu Selangor. Did such an incident really happen?

Verdict:

TRUE

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Ahmad Faizal Tahrim said the woman suffered cuts to her abdomen, shoulder, left and right hands, and her head when she was attacked with a 26.5cm knife by another woman at 4.04pm on Jan 29.

He said the incident was believed to be due to a misunderstanding between the victim and suspect, and the victim has been taken to Selayang Hospital for treatment.

“After the stabbing, the 31-year-old suspect, who is a friend of the victim’s sister, was arrested within the vicinity of the incident,” he added.

Supt Ahmad Faizal said checks revealed that the suspect had no prior record, adding that the police would apply for remand at the Kuala Kubu Bharu Sessions Court.

The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons.

Those with information about the incident have been urged to contact the Hulu Selangor district police headquarters at 03-60641223.
