RECENTLY, a message has been circulating on the communications app WhatsApp claiming that those over the age of 65 will need to undergo health and eye checks before renewing their driving licences. Is there any truth to this?

Verdict:

FALSE

In a statement on Facebook, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) said the information in the viral message circulated is untrue.

"Driving licence renewals for those over the age of 65 remain the same. Do not fall easily for such messages," it said.

The department added that further queries could be made at any JPJ office for accurate information.
