IT WAS reported that a man threw a chair at a door while screaming inside a police station in Kuala Lumpur. Did such an incident really happen?
VERDICT:
TRUE
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said a 29-year-old bank employee was detained for causing disturbance at a police station while lodging a report on Sunday (Jan 29).
"He raised his voice at the assistant investigating officer recording his statement, saying that he had waited for over an hour to lodge a report.
"He then stood up and threw a chair at a door while shouting that he 'wanted to go home'," he added.
Following the outburst, police confiscated his mobile phone where an examination then revealed several pornographic videos saved (on his phone).
ACP Mohamad Farouk also said they found that the report lodged was false and that the suspect had done so to avoid paying the penalty to make a new MyKad.
The suspect will be remanded for three days until Feb 1 for investigations under Section 292 of the Penal Code for possession of obscene material and Section 182 of the Penal Code for making a false report.
