QuickCheck: Was there a gunfight in Pasir Mas?

A VIDEO has been making its rounds on Facebook suggesting that a roadside altercation in Pasir Mas, Kelantan led to a man drawing a gun on his opponent.

Is this true?

Verdict:

FALSE

According to Malay news portal Sinarharian.com.my quoting Pasir Mas OCPD Assistant Comm Mohd Nasaruddin M Nasir, the fight did not involve a firearm.

ACP Mohd Nasaruddin then went on to say that the fight started as a dispute between a property owner and his tenant.

"The tenant had promised to hand over the keys to the house on the day of the incident but failed to do so, causing a fight between the two parties.

"Both parties have been summoned to the Pasir Mas District Police Headquarters to give further evidence and resolve the dispute," he told Sinar Harian in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 13), adding that neither party suffered any injuries.

He then went on to urge the public to contact the Pasir Mas district police headquarters at 09-793 2222 if they had any relevant information or evidence on the case.

The 19-second video first surfaced on Facebook on Monday (Sept 12), depicting the fight that occurred on Sunday (Sept 11).

In the video's description it was insinuated that one of the aggressors drew a gun on his opponent.
