It advised the public to be careful when giving out their personal details and to call the police if they believe they have been targeted by scammers.
The public can also call the Commercial Crime Investigation Department Scam Response Centre at 03-2610 1559 or 03-2610 1599 if they suspect they are a victim of fraud.
