Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said police received a report on the incident from a complainant at 4.30pm on Sunday (May 15).
“The incident was believed to have taken place at about 9am on the same day in front of the complainant’s house in Taman Scientex, Senai.
“According to the complainant, the Hindu idol was placed in the front yard of his house for decorative purposes.
“We have taken a copy of the CCTV recording for further investigation under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief, where if found guilty, the suspect could be sentenced to a maximum of two years jail or fined, or both,” he said in a statement on Friday (May 20).
