PETALING JAYA: A viral poster supposedly advertising a job vacancy for a kindergarten teacher position is fake, says the National Unity Ministry.
It said that the poster, which had gone viral on Facebook and featured a photo of Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique, had also falsely claimed that only a minimum of PMR or PT3 qualification was required for the position.
“The advertisement posted on Facebook also uses the logo of the Department of Community Development (Kemas).
“Although Kemas is not under the National Unity Ministry, it uses a picture of the Minister, Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique and her name to give itself credibility,” the ministry said.
The ministry said the fake job advertisement was actually edited from the National Unity and Integration Department’s (JPNIN) Oct 11 advertisement to fill the six vacancies for the Perpaduan Grade S29 Kindergarten Teacher position.
“Academic requirement of at least a Diploma in Early Childhood Education is the main qualification for the recruitment of Perpaduan Kindergarten Teachers, JPNIN,” it said.
As of Sunday (Oct 17), the misleading poster has garnered nearly 1,000 shares on social media.
Halimah on her official Facebook page shared the ministry's post saying, “Share the truth. I hope this (the statement) would relieve the confusion.”
