Heavy traffic expected at border

Festive bottleneck: Massive traffic congestion is expected to occur on the Causeway (above) and the Second Link in Tuas during the Christmas and New Year period.

THE Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has warned travellers of heavy traffic at the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints during the festive period between Dec 23 and Jan 4.

“With security checks, traffic build-up is inevitable, especially when a large number of travellers use the checkpoints at the same time. To avoid a surge of travellers and vehicles seeking clearance at the land checkpoints, travellers are advised to adjust their travel plans if possible,” the ICA said.
