Charitable Britons lead tsunami aid
LONDON: Britons have raised nearly US$30mil for victims of the tsunami disaster in Asia, matching the sum pledged a day earlier by their government, charities announced yesterday.Government and private funds as well as an undisclosed pledge from Queen Elizabeth has put Britain at or near the top of an international aid campaign for the disaster which has already topped US$200mil.
