HAT YAI: Thailand's military said yesterday the country's new round of its war on drugs would be “softer” than a 2003 campaign that left more than 2,000 people dead and sparked international condemnation.
Senior officers denied worldwide protests over alleged extrajudicial killings had prompted a change of tack but said they would work with the United Nations and neighbouring countries to target dealers and help users into treatment during the new campaign.
