YANGON: Myanmar's ruling junta said yesterday it would proceed with next week's constitutional convention despite a boycott by the pro-democracy opposition which it said had made unreasonable demands.
The National League for Democracy (NLD) said on Friday it could not attend the forum starting tomorrow while the junta kept its leader Aung San Suu Kyi and her deputy Tin Oo under house arrest and ignored other key demands.
