Iraq’s top bodybuilder killed in row

BAGHDAD: Iraq's champion bodybuilder, Hussein Jamaa Kazem, 24, was shot dead by a policeman during an argument, his cousin Haydar Fadel said yesterday.

“There was a dispute on Thursday between him and a policeman who took out a gun and killed him,” he said at the Ibn Nafis hospital here.

Kazem, who was due to take part in a bodybuilding championship next month, was a bank security guard by day.

The policeman refused to let the bodybuilder drive his car down a road. Kazem got out of his vehicle and the fatal argument ensued. – AFP
