TEHERAN: Iran's supreme leader yesterday ruled out any delay to the Feb 20 parliamentary elections and warned officials to back off their threats to resign in protest at the mass barring of reformist candidates.
It was the pro-reform government's duty to stage the polls as scheduled, insisted Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, rejecting a delay of “even one day”, state television reported.
