A NEW fund to help needy Indian students obtain an education raised S$1.1mil (RM2.4mil), more than double the original target, organisers of the drive said yesterday.
“We felt a lot of Indian kids don't get to go ahead in life because they've got no money,” said Dr Chitra Rajaram, chairman of the trust fund and editor of the Tamil Murasu newspaper.
