LUCKNOW (India): In an odd twist on Hindu marriage tradition, an Indian man has married two sisters, one of them handicapped, in a double wedding that has the consent of both families so that the ill sister can be guaranteed lifelong care.
Amar Verma, 26, from this capital of northern Uttar Pradesh state, married Ragini Verma, 18, and her physically disabled sister, Preeti, 21, in a simple ceremony on Tuesday in the brides' hometown of Jalaun, 300km to the southwest.
