COLOMBO: Sri Lanka's political power struggle deepened yesterday as its parliament reopened and declared its two-week suspension by a hostile president was illegal.
Speaker Joseph Michael Perera said the legislature had the right to disregard President Chandrika Kumaratunga if she ordered another suspension of parliament.
