Protection for traditional courtyard homes in Beijing

ANOTHER area with traditional courtyard homes was put on the Beijing Municipal Government's protection list last Tuesday as part of the capital’s efforts to preserve centuries-old Chinese architecture.  

Beijing vice-mayor Zhang Mao nailed a blue label saying “Protect the Courtyard” on the doorframe of the ninth courtyard of Gongtiejiang Hutong and No. 0085, Xicheng District.
