JAKARTA: Indonesia may impose a state of emergency in Aceh province if planned talks with separatist rebels break down, Information Minister Syamsul Mu'arif said yesterday.
“If various efforts that have been made by the government don't work, the government will consider either a military or civil emergency,” Syamsul told officials in Aceh, as quoted by the Antara news agency.
