HONG KONG: Scientists here believe they are closer to finding a cure for the mystery illness that has killed 11 people and sickened over 300, but local media reported concerns yesterday that the disease may be spreading.
Microbiologists at the University of Hong Kong announced late on Saturday that they have found what they believed was a new virus and developed a test to diagnose severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, bringing them nearer to determining how best to treat it.
