LIVE: Watch Budget 2027 as it happens

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to table Budget 2027 at the Dewan Rakyat on Friday (Oct 9) at 3.30pm.

In a Facebook post, Anwar said the fifth Madani Budget would continue the government's efforts to ensure national progress benefited all Malaysians, with a focus on improving living standards, protecting people's welfare and enabling everyone to live with dignity.

He described the aspiration behind the budget as reaching for the skies while remaining firmly rooted on the ground.

The budget presentation will be broadcast live on major television channels and digital platforms.

The budget stance is expected to balance fiscal prudence with inclusive economic support, aiming for sustained policy continuity and a clearly articulated economic vision shaped by resilience, structural reforms and measured responses to evolving global uncertainty and domestic conditions.

"Hopefully, Budget 2027 will continue to strengthen the economy, ease the burden on the people, create more opportunities, and ensure that the benefits of development are shared more fairly," said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in a statement on X on Thursday (Oct 8).

Previously, The Star ran an online survey asking readers what they wanted to see in the soon-to-be-tabled Budget 2027.

According to feedback from readers in the survey, they wanted cheaper groceries, lower income tax and aid for the M40 group.
