Three mortar bombs found in Dengkil disposed of, says police

SEPANG: Three suspected mortar bombs were found by a roll-on, roll-off (RoRo) lorry driver in Dengkil, says Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Norhizam Bahaman.

ACP Norhizam said in a statement that the discovery was made on Oct 2 after the complainant was separating metal scrap from the lorry outside a home in Kampung Dato Ahmad Razali, Dengkil.

"Following the incident, a police unit was sent to the location to ensure public security was maintained. A bomb squad unit was also at the scene to conduct inspections," he said.

"Their inspections showed that the three items were mortar bombs, with one being 81mm and the other two being 60mm. All objects have been moved to a safe location for disposal," he added.

ACP Norhizam said controlled disposal work was conducted on Saturday (Oct 3) at 9.20am at a construction site in Dengkil.
