Tamil schools shine in Malay language drama contest


OVER 800 students from 80 Tamil schools around the country took part in a Malay language drama competition for Tamil schools, Makkal Osai reported.

The final round of the 19th edition of the competition was held at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka in Kuala Lumpur.

A total of 47 teams had made it through the qualifying rounds, and 10 teams advanced to the final round.

The team from SJK(T) Lobak in Seremban won first place, with a grand prize of RM5,000.

SJK(T) Ladang Semenyih won second prize, which netted them RM2,000 in prize money, while third place went to SJK(T) Ladang Cairo with a prize of RM1,000.
