PETALING JAYA: A photograph of a multi-racial team of medical officers with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad during the funeral of his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali has gone viral on social media.
The photograph, uploaded on Public Health Malaysia's account, shows the three, who are from Malay, Chinese and Indian backgrounds, staying close to Dr Mahathir and attending to his needs during the funeral.
Dr Siti Hasmah, a pioneering female doctor and respected public figure, died at the National Heart Institute (IJN) on Monday (Sept 28). She was 100.
Funeral prayers were held for her at Masjid As-Syarif, Taman Sungai Besi Indah, Seri Kembangan, before she was laid to rest at the Putrajaya Islamic Cemetery.
The post also highlighted the officers' attention to hygiene, including regularly sanitising their hands while caring for Dr Mahathir and thanked them for their dedication during a difficult time for the family.
