JOHOR BARU: Congratulations poured in for Johor state executive councillor Lee Ting Han after he married his long-time partner in a simple garden wedding in Iskandar Puteri on Sunday (Sept 27).
The 36-year-old state investment, trade, consumer affairs and human resources committee chairman exchanged vows and rings with his partner, Kang Mei Yee.
The couple first met while studying law at Universiti Malaya 16 years ago in 2010.
Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, who attended the wedding with his wife, congratulated the newlyweds during a brief speech at the ceremony.
"Throughout their time working together in the state government administration, I have come to know Ting Han as someone who is diligent, capable and always highly committed to carrying out every responsibility entrusted to him," Onn Hafiz said.
"We have gone through numerous meetings, working visits and efforts to attract investment and strengthen Johor’s economy, and I greatly appreciate his contributions and dedication throughout this journey," he added.
Onn Hafiz also quipped: "Of all the investments you will ever make, may this always be the most meaningful one."
MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong was also present to extend his congratulations to the couple.
"Tonight, I came to Johor Baru with a heart full of gratitude and joy to witness the happy moment as Ting Han and Mei Yee tied the knot," Dr Wee wrote on his Facebook page.
"Wishing the newlyweds a lifetime of love and happiness together."
In a social media post written in Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese, Lee thanked guests for their well wishes and dedicated a message to his wife, writing that he would hold her hand tightly until they grew old together.
Also in attendance were former Johor mentri besar Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad, Johor State Secretary Datuk Mohammed Ridha Abd Kadir, state executive councillors, senior state officers and local MCA leaders.
