IPOH: The contributions of the late Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali to the medical profession, public health and community development will be remembered for generations, says Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
The Health Minister said Dr Siti Hasmah was not only a respected medical figure but also a pioneer in public healthcare, particularly in maternal and child health, family health and community welfare.
“I extend my deepest condolences to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the entire family of the late Dr Siti Hasmah on the passing of a person who had contributed immensely to our country,” he said in his speech before the launch of a national-level health ministry event here on Monday (Sept 28)
Dzulkefly said Dr Siti Hasmah had devoted decades to serving the nation as a prominent doctor and woman leader.
“On behalf of all Malaysian healthcare personnel, I wish to express our highest appreciation for all the services and contributions rendered by the late Dr Siti Hasmah to the nation,” he said.
He also prayed for Allah’s mercy upon Dr Siti Hasmah’s soul and that she would be placed among the righteous.
Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali passed away at the age of 100.
