Makkal Sakti wants Barisan to leave unity govt

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Makkal Sakti Malaysia wants Barisan Nasional to leave the unity government as soon as possible, says its president Datuk Seri RS Thanenthiran.

He made the call through a resolution proposed during the party's 18th general assembly here on Sunday (Sept 27).

"Parti Makkal Sakti Malaysia proposes that Barisan Nasional leave the Madani Government as soon as possible," he said in his policy speech.

"We have been humiliated, battered, stabbed in the back and tested. The leaders of Umno and Barisan have been repeatedly tested and pressured."

He added that several Umno leaders had been subjected to arrests and investigations.

"It is as though there are attempts to pressure Barisan and its leaders into surrendering.

"Once again, the party urges that this resolution be brought to the Barisan leadership at the highest level for discussion.

"Enough is enough.

"We have been tested enough. Our leaders have been tested enough," he said.

He said the party would pursue the resolution through Barisan's established channels.

"The time has come for us not to 'tebuk atap' (use the back door route), but to issue a warning.

"We have discipline. We have our own way, and we will use the Barisan and Umno way to work towards achieving this resolution," he said.
