SEREMBAN: The 16-year-old student detained in the murder investigation of a Form 2 student at a sports school in Kuala Pilah has been remanded for six days.
State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Alzafny Ahmad confirmed this when contacted on Saturday (Sept 26).
Muhammad Idlan Fareeq Shahril, 14, was found unconscious at the school hostel on Friday (Sept 25) night before being taken to Hospital Tuanku Ampuan Najihah (HTAN), where he was pronounced dead.

Earlier, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said her ministry would fully cooperate with the police to ensure the probe was conducted thoroughly and transparently.
“The entire Education Ministry community extends its condolences to the family of the deceased.
Fadhlina had said the ministry would comprehensively review safety aspects and compliance with procedures at the school.

“I have instructed the Education Inspectorate to immediately conduct an audit to identify any non-compliance,” she said.
Earlier, a social media post went viral alleging that a student had died after being assaulted and bullied at the school hostel.

However, the allegation that the student had been assaulted has yet to be verified, with police investigations ongoing to determine the actual cause of the incident.
Political leaders from various parties have called for an immediate and transparent investigation into the death.
