PETALING JAYA: A four-day Cloud Seeding Operation (OPA) has been launched across Johor, Melaka, and Negri Sembilan starting Monday (Sept 21) to restore dam water levels to optimum capacity.
The National Disaster Management Agency under the Prime Minister's Department announced in a statement on Monday that the joint operation, running through Sept 24, aims to safeguard water supply continuity and ensure environmental sustainability.
The Agency noted that the initiative also serves as a proactive measure to mitigate potential haze episodes in the affected states.

However, the agency emphasised that the success of the cloud seeding mission will largely depend on atmospheric conditions and the presence of suitable cloud formations.
The operation is being executed in collaboration with the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) and the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Ministry.
