SANDAKAN: Fifteen years after leaving SMK St Mary Sandakan, Xian Cai Siang returned to the all-boys school that helped shape him, eager to give back to future generations of students.

The 33-year-old local artist, who works under the pseudonym Sumi Spirit, was invited to paint a Malaysia Day mural themed “Bersama Kita Berkarya” (Together We Create) at his former school, which he graduated from in 2011.
