KUALA LUMPUR: For the first time, 200 alumni of the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 3.0 will take part in the march-past during the National Day celebrations in Putrajaya on Aug 31.
National Service Training Council (MLKN) chairman Gen (Rtd) Tan Sri Dr Abdul Aziz Zainal said the selected participants would begin training in Putrajaya on Tuesday (Aug 25) in preparation for the event.

"For the first time, PLKN 3.0 trainees will march past the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Prime Minister, Cabinet members and the public during the National Day celebrations.
"Their participation is in line with efforts to showcase PLKN 3.0 trainees to the public and demonstrate the training they have received as the nation’s young heroes," he said after the PLKN 3.0 Series 3/2026 Passing-Out Parade at the National Service Training Branch (CLKN) Camp 515 Askar Wataniah here on Monday (Aug 24).
At the ceremony, 247 female trainees from CLKN Camp 515 Kuala Lumpur completed their 45-day training, which began on July 11.

Aziz said a total of 795 trainees have completed PLKN 3.0 Series 3/2026, which was conducted at three camps.
The trainees comprised 106 women from Camp 504 AW in Bukit Keteri, Perlis; 442 men from Camp 505 AW in Pekan, Pahang; and 247 women from Camp 515 AW in Kuala Lumpur.
The Best Trainee awards for the three camps went to An’nur Najiha Muhammad, 18, from Ipoh, Perak; Muhammad Firdaus Muhammad Said, 18, from Kuantan, Pahang; and Cheyenne Alessandra Michael, 18, from Kuala Lumpur, respectively.
Cheyenne said the training strengthened her sense of patriotism and appreciation for the country’s independence.
"Before I joined PLKN, I knew Merdeka was an important event, but I did not understand it deeply.
"Now that I have met members of the military and gone through the training, I can understand more deeply the importance of Merdeka, the struggles and sacrifices behind it," she said.
Aziz said the number of trainees for PLKN 3.0 Series 4/2026 would be increased to more than 1,000 through the addition of training camps, including the use of training centres operated by the Malaysian Volunteer Corps Department (Rela).
"We will increase the number of trainees and use Rela training centres. With the Rela training centres combined with our existing training centres, we can host more than 1,000 trainees," he said.
It was reported previously that PLKN 3.0 Series 4/2026 would be conducted at five new camps: Camp 503 in Hutan Melintang, Perak; Camp 506 in Sungai Durian, Kelantan; Camp 513 in Bukit Pinang, Kedah; as well as two alternative camps involving public training institutes in Sungai Petani, Kedah and Tuaran, Sabah.
The expansion is part of efforts to increase PLKN’s training capacity and allow more young Malaysians to participate.
