Woman’s body found stuffed in bag near Kuala Kangsar jetty


IPOH: A body of an unidentified person was found stuffed inside a bag near the Dataran Lembah Jetty in Kuala Kangsar.

The body was discovered by the public on Friday (Aug 14) at about 4pm.

In a statement, Kuala Kangsar OCPD Asst Comm Heisham Harun confirmed the incident.

"The body has been sent to Taiping Hospital for further action.

"Investigation found that the victim was a woman in her 30s, but her identity has yet to be ascertained," he said in a statement on Friday.

"The matter will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

"The public is urged not to speculate on the matter or cause any provocations," he said.

"We also urge those with information about the incident to come forward to assist the investigation or call 05-776 2222," he added.
