KLANG: A driver accidentally set her car to the wrong gear, causing it to crash into a pastry shop in Taman Berkeley here.
The woman, in her 50s, had just made a purchase and was moving her car parked outside the shop.
However, she mistakenly set the car to the wrong gear and then pressed on the accelerator, which sent the car ploughing into the shop.
North Klang police chief Asst Comm Ramsay Embol said a shop assistant was injured in the freak incident.
“The assistant was rushed to a hospital in Klang for treatment while the woman driver, who was also injured, was taken to a medical centre in Sunway,” he said in a statement yesterday, Bernama reported.
He urged anyone with information about the incident to contact North Klang traffic investigation officer Insp Kishen Raj at 011-2624 9291.
The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Images showing extensive damage to the front of the shop were uploaded on social media.
