Alternative medicine practitioner arrested for allegedly molesting four patients


SEREMBAN: Police have detained an alternative medicine practitioner for allegedly molesting four patients, says Senior Asst Comm Mohd Nasharudin Mohd Shariff.

The Negri Sembilan deputy chief police officer said police have so far received four reports against the suspect who is in his 60s who operates from a centre in Senawang.

"We have, so far, recorded statements from the complainants and several witnesses," he said in a statement Thursday (Aug 6).

The cases, he said, were being probed under Section 354 of the Penal Code for molestation and Section 509 for insulting the modesty of a person through non-physical actions.

The suspect is also being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities or network services.

Mohd Nasharudin urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified information related to the cases.

"Any individual with information related to the cases is requested to come forward to assist in investigations," he added.
